That’s how we startet: An overview of Livingston’s history
In the fifties Livingston started as a reseller of test & measurement equipment of American manufacturers, mainly in the areas defense and communication systems. The concept was fully accepted in market and in the sixties rental of T & M equipment was launched.
In the seventies Livingston expands into several European countries at the same time adding new services: calibration-, disposal- and asset management. In this decade Livingston started to integrate computer products into the portfolio in the 80 computer rental started.
1985 Livingston became part of Brammer Group.
In the nineties Livingston extended the services by acquisition of European calibration laboratories.
In 2004 Brammer successfully sold Livingston. The rental business was combined in Livingston Group the calibration business was acquired by Air Liquide in France.
Since 2008 IT-rental and T&M rental are legally separated. All European IT rental activities are performed by the new structured Livingston IT Europe GmbH. Livingston Electronic Services GmbH is keeping the central point of asset management including related logistics to support the European subsidiaries. The T&M business continues its activities as Livingston T&M GmbH. The new Livingston Electronic Services GmbH is the leading IT-rental and asset management company in Europe since.
2011 Xchange Technology Group has acquired the ongoing business operations of Livingston Electronic Services GmbH. The company operates now as "Livingston Hamilton Rentals GmbH". XTG’s global footprint will now include 21 facilities in 9 countries and includes two new facilities in Germany – Frankfurt and Cologne.
